I just read your poem and wanted to say how much I enjoyed it. I also have written the odd poem. Must do another one! I am sorry yours is back. Keep your chin up. X

Aww thank you. I like writing poems.

I think us ladies should write a book of poems and publish them. We could give the money to ovarian cancer charities.

I'm keeping positive and am ready for round two. Bloody horrible disease isn't it.

Thinking of you. Xxx

Yes it is. I have been clear since May of last year but am always aware it could come back. I am now looking for work and is not easy especially since being out of the market for two years. It is one test after another. It is bad enough being unwell but then struggling to get work is another battle. Oh well will keep on trying. If I manage to do a poem I will post it. All the best to you. X

It is difficult with work.

I work at a college and had from last june to this February off. Luckily the paid me full money for the first 6 months and then it went to half money.

I'm planning not to have any time off this time. Chemo will be every four weeks and I've heard it's not so harsh so I plan to keep working. I don't want to have to give up my job due to this illness.

I think there's a type of benefit you can claim though with this type of cancer. Maybe look into that. Xxxx

Hi I claimed pip after my second recurrence and got the lower rate for both. I was still working at the time. Morag

I got PIP too, but you have to do a lot of research - and keep a diary of your problems, especially how long it takes you to do everyday tasks and all the little problems you have. I got the standard 'award' for both mobility and living. Obviously you can get it if you work but I'm told it's very hard to get (I retired early).

Hi Suzanne, I have been reading up on old post & think writing a book on poems would be great. It could also have stories of our journey through this dreadful disease. Photos of the beautiful places we live at & visit on holiday.

It's something that could work because we are all living this & it could be an extension of this site.

Sorry you are back fighting this again. Please take care I will be thinking of you. Cindyxx

So very sorry to hear . We go through so much with this s*** disease it is just so unfair that it comes back . So many lovely ladies on here back on chemo already. 😞 Am stage 4 and am slowly coming to terms with the fact that a recurrence is inevitable. Felt the drs were insensitive when they told me it would come back but probably just being realistic .

Have made a good friend who is on her third recurrence in 5 years and responding well to chemo , enjoying life and just come back from Paris . Hang on in there.💜 Sending a big hug and best wishes for your treatment love Kim x

I always say Kim that the greatest tool a Doctor has available to them is their words. I cannot believe some of the stories about insensitive Doctors I,ve heard. My neighbour Len passed last year from what had begun as throat Cancer. He lived alone and was terrified when told he had Cancer, then, he was in so much pain one morning another neighbour called the Doc out to him. We couldn,t believe it, but. In front of Us ( and more importantly Len ) the Doc complained he,d been called out as "there was nothing more could be done " He then wrote a prescription for painkillers and just left us, a terrified sobbing man, and his two speechless neighbours. Len had not been told that by his Hospital doctor. x

Sorry to hear that!

Just two questions: what was your CA-125 and how long ago you had a CT scan?

Thanks and let us know what are the options.

Minniemay in reply to Simona_ro

My CA-125 was up to 900. I'm not sure, but I think my previous CT scan was around April of this year. My memory is terrible!

Well, just a little more detail....as I said, it is a baseball sized free-floating mass in the upper left abdomen. Not attached to any organ, just sitting there! The bones are fine. There's no apparent reason that this has occurred, it just is, I guess. The game plan, for now, is chemo starting Aug. 31, 3 rounds. If a CT scan shows the mass is responding well to chemo & significantly shrinking, I will either continue chemo or go to an oral chemo med....I'm not quite sure what she said about that part of it. If it isn't shrinking, then it means surgery to have it removed & then finish the chemo. It's the same as I had before, Carbo & Taxil. I responded very well to that, so hopefully, I will again.

I guess I'm just trying to gear up for the three rounds of chemo. Anything beyond that I can't even think about right now. I'm feeling okay emotionally, I guess, but it's just rather discouraging. But then, I'm preaching to the choir here, aren't I ? You're all pretty familiar with that feeling!

Sigh.....:P
