Hi all what a mess this all is !!!
Decided after reading loads of material about how bad chemo is for you (I've had 2 courses
Decided to go down the natural route vitamins cannabis oil etc
Anyway latest blood and scan got a tumour on my spleen now bloods have gone up double in 6 weeks and consultant said I need to start on chemo I'm totally confused with everything
Any help appreciated x

Chemo is very toxic it's true but cancer is also very bad for you. Don't be confused...accept the chemo before your cancer starts making your decisions for you.

Lyndy, thank you. There's no covering up that ovca needs to be fought chemically AND surgically. It's a nightmare disease with lethal consequences if not fought with equally lethal chemo.

Whilst chemo is really toxic it probably won't kill you (some people do have dramatic responses to chemo though) whereas the cancer most probably will kill you, I'd go for the chemo every time if I was you, I did it 3 years ago and whilst I have long lasting side effects from it, I'm still here loving life ❤️Xx Jane
I think if Chemo worked for you before it will again. So I would say go for .it

While Chemo is toxic to your body, it is also toxic to chemo cells. It seems like right now that the cancer cells are multiplying, and I would start chemo along with possible complimentary treatments.
Also, is the cancer ON your spleen or IN your spleen. Depending on where else your cancer is, if it is ON the spleen, you may be able to have surgery to remove it also.

Have you asked for a second opinion to confirm this? My mother was believed to have spread inside her spleen (due to it being rather enlarged) - she had it removed, though it pathology stated cancer was only on it.
Do you know where else your spread is? There have been quite a few lovely ladies on this forum who have gotten a secondary surgery and had good results.

I totally understand your fears about not wanting to upset your oncologist but just let them know that you want to explore your options - it's your life after all and every doctor has their own opinion...they'll understand 
Spleens can be taken out. Eg following accidents cos they bleed so much when damaged.
'natural' (eating cannabis isn't) didn't work for me but good luck

If you are happy to give chemo another go, then go for it. Why not consider the alternative things as your 'clean up' process once chemo finishes? (Or take whatever is appropriate whilst still on chemo, as some vitamins and supplements aren't helpful, whilst others are).

Hello! As others have said, go for the chemo and then speak to your oncologist about taking supplements and vitamins alongside maybe? Hope all goes well for you, it's scary to go on chemo but when you do go on it, visualise the chemo going into your body and targeting the nasty cancer cells xx
Hi Kaza, I'm with the other ladies I would take the chemo. yes it.s not easy but this is a aggressive beast we are fighting, I'm on my 4th line treatment in 21/2 years and when I do stop chemo my 125 just goes up, This is a decision we need to make for our self's but because this is a life and death decision we need the help of professionals to help in that decision.

PS, go for the second opinion my oncologist was happy for me to have one ,then I came back to her knowing she was on the right path for my treatment.
Kaza, did you already have debulking surgery? Naturopathic remedies do not cure ovarian cancer. Sadly, only debulking surgery plus chemo can arrest it at 3C. Read my profile for more information.

I had my spleen removed in 2014, along with all my gynae bits. Have had three lines of chemo as well. At present I am feeling fine and living a mainly normal life. You can live without your spleen, taking penicillin to avoid infections. Get another opinion.

My spleen was removed during my debulking surgery as there was a tumour both in and on the spleen. I definately think you should ask why they don't want to operate.
kaza, that's not a good enough reason. For goodness sake get a second opinion! That's like saying "you've got cancer, you're dead already."
Take the treatment. It gives you a good chance. I have/had stage 3C and that was four years ago. Take their recommendations they know what they're talking about.

I had cancer in my spleen and liver two years ago at initial diagnosis and I had neo adjuvant therapy before abdominal surgery. At the time of the surgery, the cancer had gone from liver and spleen due to the chemo I had prior to it. (Carbo/Taxol). I agree with the comments here, go for the chemo , even though we feel it's toxic it does great work also!
