Anyone having facial numbness on avastin

Haven't had pains in the face ( so far on number 9 next week ) As Kathy suggested would definitely tell your team incase they need to check it out

Hi Jools, I don't have numbness in the face on Avastin but when I lost my voice the consultant did say there is a very rare side effect of temporary nerve damage so they went down that route to investigate (it wasn't). I think it's worth going back to the consultant.

As the others have said, please do contact your team about this symptom you are experiencing. It's not one of the common side effects of Avastin (information on the Macmillan website: macmillan.org.uk/cancerinfo... so they may want to investigate this further for you.

Hi Jools, my nose feels like it's been smacked. Is that what you mean? I wouldn't describe it as facial numbness and I put it down to the sinus/nasal problems Avastin can cause.

I think you should get in touch with your cns/ oncologist and check.

Hi Jools. I'm on Avastin 45 (or thereabouts). It's really been virtually problem free for me. In May I was sitting relaxed & unstressed when the left side of my tongue felt strange against my teeth, then realised the side of my mouth was a bit numb. The numbness travelled up to my eye, then my left thumb & forefinger went numb, followed gradually by the other fingers on that hand. I then developed a headache in my right temple. That headache lasted all evening but the numbness was soon over. But that was the end of it & it hasn't before or happened since. I never put it down to Avastin, as nothing like that has happened in all the time I've been on it. Best wishes. Pauline.
