Avastin cancelled and CA125 rising.

Hi lovely ladies.

My avastin was cancelled today as I had too much protein in my urine. I often have it when I do a sample but I did a 24 hour sample and there was too much protein so treatment was cancelled. Will have it after my holiday.

Also my CA125 was 54. It was 40 last time and lower each previous time. The doctor has arranged a scan for when I get back from my holiday. He says it's to reassure me more than him.

So I'm going on holiday in ten days and will be worrying. 🙁Xxxx

Hi Suzanne.

That's Avastin for you! Right pain. But hopefully it will have resolved when you come back I'm sure.

Regarding your CA125, please try not to worry, you've had very small rises each time and like your onc says the scan will reassure. Protein in the urine often causes inflammation so this could be the reason (trust me I'm a nurse lol). You've looked forward to this holiday and you must go and enjoy it. On the plus side a break from Avastin might be good and relieve the flippin aches and pains etc.

Thinking of you and sending hugs

Hi Marian.

Thank you so much for your reply. You have made me feel better about things.

I will enjoy my holiday and won't worry.

Hope you are ok. Xxx

I hope you manage to enjoy your week off and that relaxing cures whatever's causing the proteinuria, as well as taking your mind off the worry.

Thank you Lesley. I am putting it to the back of my mind. I'm going to enjoy this holiday. Had to cancel it last year as that was when I got ill. So I'm going this year and going to enjoy it.

Hope you are ok. Xxx

Hi Suzanne,

Do you know what? doesn't matter where you are in your "journey" you will worry, if you are in NED or in treatment there will always be some check looming in the future in the form of bloods or a scan and sometimes I get bored by it all🤔🙄 But I still go through with all advice👍😇

It may sound blasé but if you feel well and you have plans in place just enjoy, you can't alter anything by worrying and if you worry you will ruin any good times.

Some of the ladies may offer you better advice, but mine would be go away and enjoy,

Thank you Carole.

You are so right. If I worried for the duration of the holiday and same bsck and all was fine (hopefully will be) then I would have worried for nothing and not enjoyed my holiday fully.

The worry is being put on hold.

I hope you are ok. Xxx
