Hi

I had my post treatment follow up today and my CT scans confirm that there's no evidence of disease! I also had a really useful meeting with the doctor and one of the nurses who have answered lots of unanswered questions. I'm feeling much calmer after last week's wobble and not so scared about leaving all of this behind as it hardly seems like any time at all until my next appointment!

I'm not quite ready to shout it from the rooftops but I have had a very chilled celebration over a lovely lunch with my husband and a very good friend who has been my chemo buddy and so much more over the last 6 months. I had my first taste of alcohol for 6 months - something fizzy to celebrate!

I hope you're all doing OK.

Andrea

Hi Kathy - I've followed some of your recent posts and it's great to hear that you're 10 years on from your initial diagnosis allbeit with additional treatment to get you here. Not sure how I feel right now about additional treatment especially having had a fairly easy ride this time, but it's good to know it can be done xx

Fantastic news - enjoy life.

Best wishes Dawn

That's great. And if you wobble again do let us know. It sounds as though you have some supportive people. Was your chemo buddy a friend already? Sounds like a good friend to have now either way.

Thanks Lesley. My chemo buddy was a friend who I've known for over 25 years but I've learned a lot about her over the last 6 months. She came to my second chemo and arrived just as I had a really scary allergic reaction which must have been really horrible for her to see but she stayed with me and since then has seen a lot more than I would expect of any friend.

I also have an amazing network of friends locally - they ran a cooking rota for 4 weeks after my surgery which was the best thing they could have done.

I am very lucky:)

Cooking rota sounds a brilliant idea. What thoughtful friends you have.
