Hello ladies , a few hours since my first appointment with consultant following ultrasound diagnosis of a complex cyst two weeks ago. Surgery in three weeks to remove ovaries and Fallopian tubes he asked me to consent to further surgery when He's already there but warned he may have to go back in should the pathology of the cyst and anything else show cancer.

Feeling a little numb really on my own husband died in 2013 and I ve been supporting my son through leukaemia since he was diagnosed last September he had a stem cell transplant trials lots and lots of horrific chemos . Just as he's recovering and doing well now this I just hate giving my family more pain stress and worry . I am hopeful though and have found your posts so so helpful your all so supportive . Humanity at its best

So onwards and upwards x

Hi Christie. You've been through so much in the last few years and obviously had your fair share of heartbreak, life just seems to be like that sometimes. Having to watch a son go through cancer treatment must be heartbreaking. Here's hoping that when you have your operation no cancer is found. Please keep us up-to-date and know that we are here to support and try to answer any questions you may have. Big Hug, Kathy xxx

My sons treatment was horrific he was so brave so many chemos he was on a trial my youngest was his donor he's doing well but it feels like we haven't really drawn breath.....so fingers crossed but if it is cancer I am not someone who gives in easily as so many on this forum demonstrate too everyone is so brave so humble and supportive . Thanks for the hug sending one back 🤗 x

Just want to reiterate what Kathy said. Life can be a challenge at times to put it mildly . Hope your son is on the road to recovery , also hope the surgery goes well and the cyst turns out to be benign. Love Chris

Hi Christie,

Had to reach out to you. I've been supporting my son through Leukaemia too, and the same thing happened, just as he was in his final few months of treatment when things were better than they had been for a long time, I got diagnosed. I felt exactly as you do and still do.

But strangely it gave me strength through every horrendous chemo and complicated surgery. If he can do it, so can I.

My heart goes out to you and I pray you your cyst proves to be just that and you can enjoy putting cancer behind you. Xxx

It's very true spending all those gruelling hours with my son throughout his horrendous treatment and transplant the chemo for conditioning was just awful he reacted badly to the anti rejection drug it was destroying the liver ...so much pain.

I owe it to him to fight whatever this is I am sorry to hear you've walked a very similar path it's so bizarre isn't it but then isn't life .

I am pleased you got in touch I really hope you see signs of improvement soon

Take care x

Hello Christie, welcome to our club, the one that none of us really wanted to be a member of. We are a supportive group and very friendly.

You have been through the mill with family recently, I'm so sorry for your loss and your son's illness. Thankfully he has come out the other side now.

You do need to start focussing on yourself now though. Hopefully it won't turn out to be cancer but I feel your like me, prepare yourself for the worst possible news and anything less than that is better.

Just want to wish you the very best of luck. Ann xx

Hi Ann thank you in many ways I knew there was a problem during my sons months of treatment I chose to ignore symptoms only checking things out when I felt it safe to do so didn't want to compromise my sons care . I am able to rest take time and prepare . Your thoughts are most welcome hope your treatments going well x
