recurrence - carboplatin and caelyx

Having posted yesterday about weekly taxol it has now been decided to treat me with carboplatin / caelyx !

So same questions again really

What side effects did you have

Did you loose your hair?

How long has it kept you in remission for?

I have my last carbo/caelyx tomorrow (hurray!) I haven't found it too bad. I have it every 4 weeks. This is my first recurrence and I have been able to carry on working in between. I haven't lost my hair although I have used the cold cap just to make sure!

I finished this regime 2 months ago. Got a rash on a couple of cycles, but nothing to bad . The last 3 I was very tired, but I put this down to getting a chest infection. Had a really good response , hoping I get a long remission.

Hi,

I had carbo caelyx last year. My hair never changed I didn't us the cold cap and I even kept colouring it (semi permanent) blue as I have done since I have had ovarian cancer lol.

I had a few tummy issues but I do have bile acid malabsorption and this gives you similar symptoms. I did find I had a sore mouth all through the treatment and the usual taste change.

My wife had this as second line, she didn't lose her hair. Not sure, but I t think that it is unusual to lose your hair with this combination. Although it may depend on the strength and mix? Good luck.
