A letter from my oncologist came today. Two simple sentences.
"I have at last received the full report from your ct scan, its shows no evidence of any active disease. This is very reassuring and I look forward to seeing you in my clinic in 3 months time.
Strangely I have taken it very calmly, feel as though I should be out celebrating.........too tired to! Feels strange...........but now to look forward and not back! xx

GREAT!! news but a 7 week wait is not good you must have been in a state by the time you got the results, but what a great result I'm so please for you. Let it sink in then go out and treat yourself.

Congratulations, we all love NED (no evidence of disease). It is mentally exhausting hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. Calm is just fine. It gets marginally easier with time.
A 7 week wait is unreasonable, but hooray for such a positive result!!
I found it hard to celebrate too. I think that's perfectly normal.

Yes its not on, he said there was a 6-8 week back log to type up the radiologist report! Its such a horrible time waiting for results, for me that's been the worst of it. Hoping you all get some good news too, keep strong lovely ladies. xx

Great news and similar letter to one I received recently but a lot sooner than 7 weeks which you shouldn't have had to endure and is really bad. Like you its hard to take in but you are right, look forward now.
I had similar wait it awful ... the news you long for arrives and you think right that's it I'm cancer free ...you hope to feel elated but it's strange after the battle comes a lull ... what to do next .,, live your life ?? The fact that we had cancer will always haunt us ... sad but we have to return to normal a new normal I guess 💪🏻💪🏻👍🏻❤️🤗

Great news but 7 weeks is far too long to wait. No wonder you were in a state by the time you received the letter. As others have said the reality of NED does take time to sink in but in time you will find a new normal for your life. Meanwhile be kind to yourself and do things you really enjoy.

Wonderful news for you now go enjoy life 😊 I too was very calm when I was told I was NED... as I was on my own I went and sat somewhere in the hospital to absorb my good news. Thank you everyone, still feeling a bit numb........Mothers Day on top made me emotional, went to the cemetery this morning with flowers for my mum and flowers for my son Matthew who died when he was 14. I miss him so much, days like today just bring all the pain back of losing him and I still feel angry about the unfairness of it, all the life he missed. xx
