Last week I saw my doctor and he said I am in complete remission but will still need the three more chemos and most of next year on avastin. I was feeling quite happy about this.
I've never wanted to know the grade of my ovarian cancer but received a letter today giving the histology results and that I have high grade serous adencarcinoma. So it's aggressive. Wish I hadn't read the letter but i can't unread it.
Just worried now that it's going to rear it's ugly head quite quickly.

If it is any consolation my gynae onc said that high grade is often better because it responds much better to chemo.

I responded really well to chemo so I guess that is good. It just seemed a bit scary but this disease whatever stage and grade is scary for us all X
I suppose that's one thing we will never know isn't it!? The when and if question. It's a real bummer!!! I take comfort in that there are wonderful ladies on this site who have had many years without recurrence after their initial diagnosis. high grade or low grade - some don't have a recurrence. We have to somehow find our new 'normal' whatever that is. That's not easy either is it?
I wanted to know EVERYTHING!!! I have every paper on clear cell that I can find! Still look too for anything new out there.
It is hard to find our new coping techniques, some days I'm fine and some days I'm a bit worried!

You are so right. It is our new normal. I felt a little low when I read it was high grade but as another lady said , high grade responds well to chemo. I'm in complete remission too so things are good really. Recurrence is a worry for all of us but if it happens, it happens and it'll be treated again. 👍🏻
Right now though I'm going to get a glass of red wine and chill. 👍🏻👍🏻

I think seeing it in black and white makes it all real, and brings home that you are actually sick.
I read my histology report with terror, but also amusement when the description of my uterus also included the coil I'd had fitted. No stone was left unturned in that write up!

I am with the " high graders " too , and echo all what has been said above, that is we do respond really well to treatment! 🎉🍾... and like my oncologist said to me when I was discharged this week, treat this like a chronic condition, you will always need to be aware of it but just go on living your life as you would have ( easier said than done) .
So here's to us high graders !!! I just new I would get a high grade in something!!!! 🎉🍾🍾🍾xxxx
