Pretty sure it's back.

Finished chemo for stage 3c in October 2015 and have been well ever since. In the last 5 days my abdomen has swelled to almost twice its size very quickly - especially at the top. I have a routine check up on Thursday - thinking I should ring tomorrow and ask if I can have a scan on the same day - I can't think what else this swelling could be other than the worse case scenario 😢

What a worry for you, and yes it's a very good idea to ring tomorrow and get things organised. Hoping that you can try to rationally put these thoughts aside until you hear one way or the other howeve I know that will be difficult.

Thinking of you, let us know how you get on

Take care and hug for you

Like Clare says try and put it out your mind until you know exactly what it is. Easier said than done. Stay positive.

Wishing you well, xxxx

Hi. Does not your routine check up once in three months post chemo involve a scan with bloods? Meantime, do not assume or presume anything untoward. Keep the Faith and all will be well.

I think it would be a good idea to try to arrange a scan on your appointment, I'm sure they will understand your concerns and hopefully the scan can give you some peace of mind. Try not to worry, easier said than done I know.

Sending big hugs & positive hopes ❤️ Xx

Hi Becky,

I had similar experience in June and it turned out to be an incisional hernia, nothing more serious so that is one possibility.

Do hope you get good news on Thursday.

Best wishes,

Barbara

Hi.I am also stage 3c 2014.I would also get a blood check. My indicator that my cancer had reoccurred was bloating also.I had them do a ca125 check. And yes it had risen. They set up a scan and yes my cancer was back after only 10 months.Good luck. Will be thinking of you.I am now stable again. My 9 month scan is coming up next month.Hoping for a good news.Take care.Lynn

So CA125 is definitely elevated and I'm presuming by a lot due to the tone of my nurse and the fact they are now trying to get me an urgent scan - I don't think she really wanted to tell me over the phone. Angry, scared, upset do not even begin to cover it. I've got way too much to do to get back on this bloody rollercoaster again!!

I can imagine how scared and worried you must be! My heart goes out to you. I am glad to hear they are trying to get you an urgent scan. As hard as it is, try to keep positive. Others on this forum have said they had similar experiences and everything turned out ok. I'm sending positive thoughts and prayers your way. Please let us know what you find out. Kim xo

I had ascites, so I know what you are thinking, you have to do what you have to do to and if it were me I would ring for the scan on the same day.

Only because I think it will put your mind at rest.Dont think worst case scenario, just think I have done the best I can and will get the answers I need to let me get on with my life.

Let us know how you do,

Lots of love

So looks like I definitely have ascites and will be going in get it drained tomorrow. I did not have ascites last time and I'm in so much discomfort and pain. Feel sick - not really eating and can't really sleep. It's making me so miserable. For those of you that have ascites - how did/do you cope with it? I feel like I'm just being a big wimp 🙁

Oh Becky I'm so sorry to hear this. Although I'm super pleased to hear your medical team have moved so quickly. I never had ascites but I did have horrendous bloating before my diagnosis (16cm borderline mucinous) & looked & felt pregnant! Please don't think you're being a wimp. You've been through this rollarcoaster before so you have every right to feel anxious again. I do, however, pray your scan outcomes are ok and whatever lies ahead it's manageable for you. You're in my thoughts, keep us posted Hun ((hugs)) Jemima xx
