The big operation tomorrow πŸ’ͺ

I'm going for the full hysterecomy with omentum & lymph node removal in the morning . The operation has been brought forward 2 weeks early I'm excited that things are moving forward but also terrified at the same time. Results will be 2 weeks after to determine what course of treatment I will receive. 😊

Hi. I just wanted to say I can still remember feeling terrified about my forthcoming OP (I'm a wimp) but to be honest it was fine, nothing like I was anticipating. My late mum (self-confessed bigger wimp than me) put off having a hysterectomy for years before being diagnosed with ovarian cancer at which point the decision was taken out of her hands, well her comment afterwards was 'well I wished I'd have know years ago what it was going to be like, it's nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be, I should have had it years ago!' I hope all goes well, be kind to yourself and a bit selfish too doesn't hurt and you will find that you are soon on the mend . Take care, Kathy xxx

Hi

Good luck. I had mine three and a half weeks ago. You'll be fine. Like everyone says, it's not as bad as you are probably anticipating. It's another stage of treatment to get over and move on to remission. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

Good luck for your op tomorrow - not that you'll need it with your positive attitude! I had a full hysterectomy 4 weeks ago today and, like you, I went in thinking positively. The recovery hasn't been nearly as bad as I imagined it would be. Just make sure you rest up and stay away from the hoover for 6 weeks!!

Thinking of you today - hope it all goes well! xxx

Hoping by now it will have gone really well/be going really well. How nice to hear of the op being brought forward... you'll be fit in time for the dreaded festives!

I hope surgery went well and that you are in recovery. Take small steps every day to get better, I hope it wasnt as daunting as your feared but its doable and we cope with the everyday little bugbears for the first few days post surgery

Hi all thanks for your kind messages . I've had the operation and all went well . I have a 12 inch vertical scar which looks very unsightly but hey ho in the grand scheme of things it's a small price to pay .

The good news is today I'm going home 🏑

The next 2 weeks are a waiting game to see what treatment I will need but until then I'm going to relax and let my husband take. Are of me xx

Delighted the surgery went well and you can go home. Try and get some mint tea in. I had bad wind and cramps post op and this really helped. Husbands are great at making cups of tea!
