Thymic Carcinoma

In Sept. 2015 I was diagnosed with Thymic carcinoma. A decision was made to undergo chemotherapy in order to shrink the tumor in order to have surgery to remove it. Minimal shrinkage was obtained, but it was enough to allow a 5 1/2 hour surgery. However, not all of the tumor could be removed. Therefore, I will begin 6 weeks 5 days a week of radiation with the hopes of eradicating the rest of what's left.

While this form of cancer is rare, the treatment is similar to what others have been faced with or are going through.
