Hi as anyone experienced hot flushes after finishing chemo. I also had debulking operation last year and finished my last lot of chemo in December. Been on avastin since last November. I have been through the menopause but now have started to get hot flushes, so feel like I am going through it again. Lol 😁 xx

Hi Juliette! Ugh, you must have thought you'd seen the last of them! I had surgical menopause from debulking surgery in August, so am still having hot flashes every night, and have only just finished chemo. I felt as though, in the week after a chemo treatment, I was freezing all the time and so didn't get hot flashes as badly... then they'd kick back in again. So I wonder if there's something to that? Maybe something about the chemo masks them? It's worth mentioning to your oncology or surgical team, or even your GP. They might be able to help. Kerry xx

Hi, have a look at my posts regarding the lady magnet and hot flushes. The singer Brenda Carlisle said it was a life saver for her hot flushes.

Yes I had a "second menopause" too & the hot flushes & sweats were worse than the first time but stopped a few months after finishing chemo. They started after debulking in October 2014 but gradually diminished...I finished chemo April 2015

My menopause was medically induced courtesy of my debulking surgery. I almost immediately started with hot flashes. As I was unable to have HRT my GP prescribed what I understand is rather an old fashioned drug for hot flushes called Dixarit. These have worked brilliantly for me. Indeed they worked so well that I thought I was over them. I tried not taking them for a while and then wondered why I was having hot flashes again!
