Just read article in mail this morning stating parp inhibitors are going to be available to women with o\c.hooray,a long time coming.really good news.hopefully they will include braca negative women too. At the moment im on rubacarib...parp inhibitor on trial.coming up to my second scan on monday.fingers crossed its doing its job.

It is indeed wonderful news that women who are BRCA positive will have access to PARP inhibitors. I don't think it's feasible for the NHS to fund it for women who are BRCA negative until the current clinical trials reveal whether it's effective on that cohort. It would be a shame to subject us to drugs if they're not going to be effective.

I saw in the paper this week that there's a multi-million Euro project with Finland, France and Germany which is looking into analysing which women with ovarian cancer respond best to different treatments. That is a huge step forward. The trial isn't in the UK but is very promising.

Hi Annie,i agree nhs wont fund until all them the conclusions from trials for braca negative.but i live in hope this trial works. Thanks for the info too.xxx

Hi Hollie. Do they mention which ones? I'm on a trial for Olaparib, nearly 28 months in remission but I understand that it's too expensive, c£5000 per month, so won't be available. I have the BRAC2 gene. Kathy xx

Hi katmal,yes they mention olaparib. Which can extend lives of o\c by months or even years. Todays daily mail.writen by ben spencer medical corresponent. brilliant news that you are in remission 28 months!! So uplifting

That is indeed good news thanks for sharing. If it is in the NHS hopefully we will have it here on this side of the sea in the New Year too.
