I was wondering if anyone has experienced all over itching.i had a problem with it before I was diagnosed but no one was interested.it just went away.iv been putting up with it for about 4 weeks now and nobody seems bothered now either.could it be anything to do with my secondary liver tumour.any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.thanks carolyn

Hi

So sorry to hear about the itch but I did experience this as well, last year. It was after the first lot of Chemo and then it gradually went away, I hope yours does too. I have just had one lot of Chemo this year and due to have some more in three weeks so hope my itch does not come back!

Thanks for that.i asked my Macmillan nurse if it was the chemo and she said no.i finished my chemo mid February so it probably is that then.

Try using mild shower gels such as Simple baby Wash or Aveeno shower creme and moisturiser. I use the Simple wash since rt and dont have a huge problem so I just have kept it up. Also make calmomile tea and let it cool and bathe the itch. Simple wash also has calmomile in it.

I do! I put it down to chemo and E45 on prescription helps enormously. I had it before diagnosis and my GP said it was eczema and prescibed E45. I also use simple or sanex products in the shower and keep covered up in the sun because I have always had sensitive skin and chemo has made it worse! I often shower just with water! I don't think the cancer does it but the chemo does!

In short moisturise and use hypoallergenic products!

Hope this helps, good luck! Margaret

Hi It may be eczema in which case no soap and special creams, GP. It can come on suddenly. It also may be related to the liver or kidneys.Nothing really helps mine it is horrid.

Hi Dreamies,

Yes I have the itch too but as yet have not had any other treatment since surgery six months ago. So it may not be the chemo.

I use a mild shower gel and e45 to moisturise. Just trying out Aveeno moisturiser as couldn't get the shower stuff, my daughter says it's good though. Hope you get it sorted 😉

Wishing you well

Aemi x

Bitter herbs may help the liver such as dandelion and milk thistle teas. If it is indeed eczema, the cause must be of allergic nature.

Beside bitter herbs I used to put castor oil over the liver area on the skin and apply heat over it for 3-4 hours a day for min 3 days at the time to flush out the liver that was struggling detoxing. It felt better after that.

I'm a bit worried now, been suffering with itching for a couple of months, dry scratchy patches, itchy hair and body, it's tiring. My treatment was two years ago so can't be chemo. Should I investigate further?
