Hello. I'm a little confused as to whether Caelyx makes you lose you hair not. Please can anyone that has been on it let me know. Lovis x

Just finished 3 chemos of Carbo/Caelyx, was bald as switched me from Carbo/Paclitaxoll. Hair is growing back thick and fast. Did not have any side effects either (unlike Pacltaxol) so hope you have a similar experience. Good luck xx

My hair became very thin and I ended up cutting it all off & wearing my wig. My hair is very thin/fine anyway, but it did grow back really quickly after treatment.

It did work well thanks, there was no evidence of disease after 6 doses and my CA125 was down to 8.

Really hope it works as well for you! I had the last dose early June and am still fine.

Oh, Brenda, you've really cheered me up as my old oncologist made me feel that it wasn't very effective that's why I'm seeing a new oncologist tomorrow at the Royal Marsden tomorrow as the old one was so negative. Love Lovis x

I'm on 4th round of caelyx for 3rd recurrence of PPC. I'm doin fine and no loss or even thinning of hair - always a bonus!

Hi,

I had 4 rounds of caelyx in the spring. My hair may have thinned very slightly but certainly didn't lose much.

My hair grew back when on Caelyx, but the drug didn't work so am now on my third chemo treatment of Paclitaxel weekly and have been told that my hair will come out again!! HO HUM - thank goodness for scarves.

Now on my 3rd lot of caelyx. Only side effect : bad indigestion , which I've never had before. Hair still thin but OK . Ca 125 blood results yesterday show a drop of almost 1,000 from 3,225 to 2,293 . Will have scan fairly soon .

Hi lovis, are you having caelyx , I'm possibly going to have a 4th line treatment and have been told that this is the drug I will have ? Do you know how successful it is? X

Hi Sasha, I think it has varying results from what I can see from the answers I'm getting but a lot of people have had good outcomes so we must pray and have faith that it will be good for us. I don't think you lose your hair but it thins. PLease let me know how you get on. Lovis x

Hi Lovis

I am feeling fine and will have scan next month to see what progress has been made. My main symptom is always really bad ascites and was drained before starting caelyx. No return so far so that's a good sign! I have had some indigestion for the first time ever but it does pass. So far so good for me and I hope this is the case for you and everyone else.
