I have not been to BMI Edgbaston but I have had surgery and a lot of treatment at BMI Priory which is just down the road from BMI Edgebaston. I have the the hospital as a whole very good and would certainly recommend it. I assume it is the same group in fact now I come to think about it I did have my pre op. assessment there in May. Certainly I would choose BMI. Hope that helps. Good luck. June

Hi there, I had my laparotomy at New Cross hospital. It was meant to be a laparoscopy so was checked in the day centre. As above the staff and treatment were faultless. Only a very minor point that I didn't like the wait for the op. I checked in at 7.30 and my operation wasn't until 12.30. The chair I sat in was very uncomfortable and there was no privacy. I did have a book and my nintendo ds to keep me occupied but I could not concentrate on either. I suppose that would be the only difference between choosing a private hospital where they pay extra attention to details like that. On the other hand my whole journey with the NHS has been superb.
