Borderline Ovarian Tumours and pregnancy

Hello, last month I had stage 3 borderline ovarian tumour removed and 1 and a half ovaries. I am 30, I am not finished having children (one son), hence the surgeon tried to leave half an ovary. He has recommend hysterectomy ASAP, and to not consider any more children.

What confuses me is borderline is not cancer, and not necessarily a chance of it becoming cancer. So this seems very dramatic to me, when a hysterectomy so young carries its own risks (organs age quicker, heart failure younger etc)

I am struggling with who to speak to, I can't get my head around that this is actually happening and I just want to know if anyone has ever had borderline tumours, gone on to have a healthy baby or even just not had a hysterectomy and it has never come back.

Thank you for reading

xx

If you were staged you have cancer. They told me 1C. Granulosa cell tumor. Claimed it was benign. Claimed they got it all. Less than a year later it came back. I am now 5 yrs out and Stage 4. In chemo. Tumors are everywhere. Raising my 11 yr old autistic grandson. I would not always believe what my dr says but get a second opinion. Kids are important, but leaving them behind when you die is horrendous. I have heard of people having eggs saved for later use but imagine it is quite expensive.

I realize this was 3 months ago...I would definitely search a second opinion . ...I had borderline tumorgr cells last year...my oncologist decided to watch and monitor and not remove anything. im 28 and haven't been able to have children.

Borderline tumors are not cancer if you feel in doubt I would most certainly look for a second opinion before making a drastic decision. Best of luck
