Hello Rachel, I was waiting until someone more qualified to comment replied, but as there haven't been any so far, and you're obviously worried, I thought I'd answer. First of all your team seem to regard this 'p-o haematoma' as something 'that happens in some post-operative cases', and this would be regardless of whatever kind of operation it was. So this is a case, I think, of trusting that opinion, and getting on with your own task of healing (physical, mental, and spiritual). This is strange and difficult territory to be in, and if there is one certain thing it is that all of us have different reactions to different things, and there is definitely (I believe) no one 'recipe' that can be followed to guarantee that the journey progresses in an orderly way. Perhaps have a chat with your oncology nurse to get some reassurance? Blessings, Marie
