Happy Halloween,

Just want to wish you all a lovely weekend doing whatever you enjoy most. Cork was busy today with the Jazz Festival and will be for the next few days. Hope all of you on treatment are doing okay. I will have a busy day tomorrow when son and wife and children arrive for an overnight. Really looking forward to the visit and of course the babysitting. I had to put my Cavalier to sleep last weekend so this weekend has to be better. Sammy joined the family after my first chemo and treatment on my return to work. We had many years of fun and walks. So now I am down to two which is more manageable. My poor husband is scared that I will mention another dog but not just in the humour right now. We still do not have our satellite dish replaced, it seems we will have to wait for another two weeks as Sky have a long list of calls to make. So have a fab weekend and best wishes

thanks for posting suziki....enjoy all you've got coming up especially the jazz and your baby-sitting.....very sorry about your dog though.

I keep resisting getting a new guineau pig, despite still having the dogs and the fish xxxx

Hi Joan, feels good to hear from you as you have been silent for a while. Looks like Americans had taken over Cork in the week with Halloween and Jazz.

Sorry about Sammy, who are emotional.baggage that we carry as they enter our lives , albeit for a short period of time. Silver lining isn't he grandchildren coming over and so here's to a rocking weekend. Take care and trust all is well..

Thanks Naimish, I hope Gauri is doing okay at the moment. Well so many years ago, one of the jazz singers came over with her family and husband. She fell in love with Cork and never went back to US. She remained here with her children and met someone else, so sometimes, we just dont let them go here in Cork. I am doing okay check up in December so guess who will have to bring in the staff some chocolates? I always do in any case as they have been so good to me. A week on and yes we miss Sammy even the other dogs, its funny how they actually realise the other dog is missing, I mean in strange funny.

thank you, didnt go out jazzing to be honest, . I feel a need to replace as one of my other cavvies is missing Sammy so much, he is off his food and very needy. But dont think I will rush into it. all the best

Thanks D I got Sammy as therapy to get back walking after my first experience of Chemo and surgery. Yesterday one of the others was squealing so back to the vet, its probably pulled muscles, he is more comfy with meds now. Look at the two is breaking my heart because at least I can tell someone how I feel but they are so down in the dumps. I have had dogs for years but never seen them upset like this. Grainne my daughter says get another but its far too soon. Are you going to Kilkenny at the end of the month for the PPI ?

Hi Joan, it’s lovely when people talk about their normal lives and not just OC. Makes the rest of us feel we can have a life even with this blasted disease. I was on Brittas Bay beach today with my two beloved dogs and equally beloved husband (should I be saying more beloved? Hmmm!). Happy Halloween to you and all the family.

Thank you, I know I have been lucky this year, back for review in December and my gp wants bloods this month since hospital dont do them any more. He was worried about liver bloods but speaking to a friend last night, it seems they can be elevated from Chemo. Other than that have aches and pains meant to take Fosavance but since it upsets my tummy, I tend to leave it.

Hi Joan

Sorry to hear about your dog - I was never a "doggy" person until my son, who was 8 at the time ,wanted a dog, so we got a golden cocker and I fell in love with her. It was devastating when we had to put her down at age 15, but she'd had a good, long life.

Thank you for Hallowe'en wishes - right back at you!

Hi Juliet, had a busy weekend after, my son and daughter in law arrived on an overnight. The baby who is now 3 months got strange and cried for about an hour totally inconsolable, They had a nice visit and once Aidan came around, they went out for a while with friends. You do get very attached to dogs, but they are great company too

Hi Joan

Sounds like you had a busy enough weekend! It's great to have grandchildren around I find, even though sometimes I'm very glad to see them go home!
