Hi ladies does any one keep getting fluid in there adomen

Hi ladies hope you are all well just wanted to no if any of you ladies needs to be drained off I was drained off about six weeks ago I can feel it happening again is this normal I don't know love to you all xxx

Hi Rosanne,I was only drained off once but I thought a few times I had fluid ,which I didn't.It was sometimes fat and sometimes bowel problems which caused the swollen abdomen.Ive heard of lots of women being drained often with no problems.If your worried it might help to talk to the Liason nurse.x

Hi Rosanne. I am having to have ascites drained regularly since the latest recurrence, latterly 7.3 litres a week ago and I'm due back on Monday. It is such a relief when it's gone as it makes me immobile and in pain. My consultant thinks it will stop soon hopefully. I'm on number 7 of 18 weekly Taxol treatments which seem to be working otherwise with my CA125 down from 1,026 to 350. Don't be worried about being drained regularly if you need it. Love Ruby x

Thanks ruby this helps a lot I'm on tamaxifen but will put me on weekly taxol if this don't keep it under controlled hope you are well sending my love to you

Hi Rosanne, I had fluid first time around drained during surgery and havent had it since. You do get rather anxious and I find myself checking my tummy now and again but so far so good. I hope the tamoxofen helps until Sept so you get a break from treatment
