Nervous about going back to work tomorrow...

after being off from work for four days because of excessive bleeding and Im having a hysterectomy on 18 September. The cyst in my uterus is in the wall of my uterus and the cyst that they thought was in my ovaries...was actually in my tubes. Both of which they can not get to with the camera and doing the camera thingy. (Can't think of the complete name.) I was off for a week, a few weeks before this because of excessive bleeding and my boss had told me that she didn't want me to be into work if Im bleeding because she didn't want me to pass out at work if I bled too much. So I stayed home this past week. Went to the doctors on Monday afternoon and was told the bad news that I needed a full hysterectomy and then, since I couldn't see my gynecologist because I was on hormones the beginning of the week and he wanted me to give it time to work. Then his surgery day was Thursdays. Then I couldn't see him on Fridays because he was busy catching up with his appointments. So I called my M.D. on Saturday morning and I got in to see her. Turns out I have/had a yeast infection and they put me on Fluconazole for that. Im doing better...but Im still scared. Just wish I had someone to tell me that everything will be alright and that I worry too much. I just don't want my management to be upset with me...but then people tell me that they shouldn't get upset at me for something I can not control! For once, I just wish I had someone to walk in my shoes for one day.

Thanks for listening....

Hi tallngracious, you are getting very upset with all this. First of all, if you are unable to go into work your manager has to accept that. Managers get paid to sort out staffing problems. I am a bit like that too and my sick record would be fine only for this cancer. Hopefully the yeast infection will clear up and you will feel a bit better. It is alright to feel scared, all of us on here feel scared from time to time. You know whatever happens happens as regards surgery, a wise colleague told me to go with the flow and that does help. Doctors dont want to know about work schedules. They want to look after you, you are number one in this and should only worry about yourself and not about work. Today do something nice for yourself, a treat because you are worth it.

Hi, Just deleted my reply to you and must have waffled a bit, if I did that. Anyway, Suzuki has given you great advice, that it is your managers job to worry about rosters and staff coverage. Your focus is yourself and your treatment.

While we would all love to be there to hold your hands and walk beside you in the same shoes, our positive thoughts and cyber hands are holding your hand, and we are walking beside you & in your shoes every day.

Love & best wishes.
