CCR6 & CCL20 are the key drivers in prostate tumor microenvironment.
This is a very good Feb 2023 article but it’s best to scroll down to get out of the weeds to the crux of the biscuit. The crux of this biscuit is a well known inflammatory cytokine CCL20 and it’s receptor CCR6. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-023-36325-2

PC no longer castrate resistant
Hello all, my latest pet/ct scan indicates my PC is no longer castrate resistant as there is new disease growth in my lungs. Largest lesion is 2.5 centimeters. I'm no longer taking xtandi, so it can be "washed out" of my system prior to new treatment, however I'm still getting quarterly lupron shots

Almost forgot I have PC
I have been off the grid for a while. Back in late November, I started having bladder problems including bleeding, urgency, frequency and incontinence. In December I was diagnosed with stage 3/b bladder cancer. In late January I had open Cystectomy and was in the hospital for 10 days. My MO put my PC

Roger Died from his Melanoma. He had to stop Successful Opdivo Infusions due to Problems caused in his Liver.
Roger kept getting weaker and weaker. He was hospitalized, the sent to a rehab, then to another hospital due to breathing trouble, then home to die in 2 days. It was a quick ending to an honorable and graceful life. He was in his 80's, but until he had Melanoma - he seemed very young and strong. God

Insomnia Strikes Again 😂
Hi y'all! Hoping everyone is doing well. Jimmy had his monthly lab work on Monday that is required to make sure he's able to continue with the immunotherapy. We saw the oncologist today and had some hopeful news. Both his AFP tumor marker and his LACTATE DEHYDROGENASE have dropped since last month. Still

Hoping for a Better 2022

Opdivo immunotherapy
Good morning everyone. Jimmy starts the immunotherapy this morning. Insurance denied the Tecentriq and Avastin combo at last minute so we're going with Opdivo instead. His insurance company is changing at end of month so Oncologist says can always try again for approval with new company. He wanted to

Dr Sartor raises questions about triplet therapy as a SOC for MHSPC. What was the take home message of PEACE I ??
Greetings FPC members, While I have STOPPED POSTING on cutting edge science, I will continue to report on interesting articles from MD's, etc... Below is an article from Dr. Oliver Sartor on the results from PEACE I. While some have jumped on board and said the new regimen should be docetaxel plus abiraterone

Out of Nivolumab/Opdivo Clinical Trial
My husband, Steve (Stevana on this site), is now out of the phase 2 clinical trial for the immunotherapy drug Nivolumab (a/k/a Opdivo). He started the trial in August, 2020 which also included infusions of Docetaxel. His last Docetaxel infusion was on December 3rd and he continued with infusions of Opdivo

Continuing discussion of Adaptive Theory-- Why does early chemotherapy result in lower response rates to Lu-177 and immunotherapy??
Greetings FPC warriors, In the spirit of continuing cujoe's look at Adaptive Theory, I raise the question of whether early chemotherapy plays a role in creating resistance. Recently, posters/bloggers have been showing some of the early results reported from PEACE I trial, but the question remains as

First Scans after Chemo - Good News!
My husband Steve (Stevana on this site) had his first scans post chemo Thursday, March 18. The scans show his cancerous lymph nodes have all decreased in size and his bone mets are stable. Having no new growth and cancer shrinking is the best we could have hoped for so we are very relieved. Because he

Experience with Yervoy/Opdivo for HCC? MD's watching scans when new area appears rather than changing treatment? MD's using a prior med?
My husband has been on Avastin/Tecentric q3wks since August 2020 with stable scans and AFP dropping from 600 to 262 until this week when there's a new area of uptake 2.5-3 cm that both oncologist/IR thinks is new area of cancer outside of portal vein but not well defined yet. They both rec repeat scans

Is anyone on the UCLA trial for Opdivo with Yervoy for PC?
I have been approved to start trial and was wondering who else out there has or is going through it and can share their experience.
