Anyone with squamous cell oesophageal cancer with no surgery to date.

Squamous cell carcinoma is about 30% of the UK cases of oesophageal cancer. The other one, adenocarcinoma, is men:women 4:1 so my guess is that there is a majority of females with squamous cell carcinoma. It can sometimes be successfully treated without surgery, by chemo-radiotherapy, but it does all depend on the stage at which it is diagnosed. I know of one lady who was successfully treated with this method after a second lost of cancer in the oesophagus many years after her original surgery.
Thank you Alan, I know most of the statistics, just wanted to communicate with someone who had it as all the anticipants in HealthUnlocked appear to be people with adenocarcinoma which is not quite the same. Sure there must be some around somewhere.

There are indeed some around! I met one last Saturday at the Luton OPA group meeting, a 40 year old, doing pretty well!
