Interested in taking part in a nutrition study?

Here are some details of a nutrition research project at Charing Cross hospital, Fulham, which is recruiting volunteers:


Evaluation of an Oral Nutritional Supplement in subjects who may benefit from additional nourishment and an improvement in strength

If you are interested in participating:

·You must be age 65 or over

·You may have low appetite, with low energy levels and have trouble keeping your weight up

·You will not be able to participate if you have diabetes, kidney disease or active cancer, or taking medications or supplements for weight gain

·There are other criteria you must meet in order to participate in this study.

During the study, you will:

·Have blood draws to assess health profile, including cholesterol and nutritional status

·Have assessments of body muscle, fat and bone density with minimal exposure to x-ray

·Have upper and lower-body strength and balance measurements taken

·Complete activity and "life outlook" questionnaires

·Take an Oral Nutritional Supplement drink each day

You've just made my day - I'm actually too young to participate:) One thing I'm not sure about, will you have to be an in - patient or just live locally?


I think it is just a question of making visits, so it is easier if it is within easy travel distance.

Glad that you feel young again!
