If you have had your vagus nerve cut, then the digestion process probably will go haywire because it is that nerve that controls the speed and efficiency of your digestion system. You may find that you alternate between diarrhoea and constipation. It sometimes affects the way that you might feel hungry as well. Constipation is not a good thing to have, so you perhaps you need to think about the the things that you eat and keep a food diary so that you can work out what is causing you problems. You may well need to have some kind of medication to clear the constipation.

I imagine that you will not have got to the point you have without having had lots of discussions with your doctors, but it will be time to think about being very selective about what kind of food you have, preferably with the assistance of a specialist dietician.

I hope this helps

I've had the same problem. I take 10mls each morning of lactulose as suggested by my doc. It works by retaining water in your bowel I'm told. Suggest you get the ok from your doc first. If you overdo it, it could go the otherway.

I find that when I'm very active its worse, so I vary the amount I take.
