Problem with new oesphageal stent fitted

My husband had an oesophageal stent fitted 3 weeks ago. It has not eased or helped any of his previous symptoms, if anything he is worse. Bad cough, sick every day, nothing stays down, on soup and custard only. Losing weight, lethargic, had an infection and on 7 days of antibiotics which has helped,. Still got pain in chest and stomach and on soluble paracetemol daily. Anyone else had problems with a new stent, could it be in wrong place or could it have moved?

Personally what I see is his physical and mental halth is in poor shape and the stent location may not be the root cause. We do not know other information as to why he got stent etc so unable to comment in detail from self or other forum members to share theirt experience.

Current priority is to arrest/stop the weigth loss and sustain it for the time being while he is recovering. Fluid intake is vital for him and should be encouraged by trying cold fluids, whilst at it his salt and sugar etc need to be kept right. Not right time to experiemnt something which he hasnt tried or knownto have bad reaction etc in the past. stick to what has worked within reasons.

Oesophageal muscles react to mental health, if thats off the scale then muscles may not function properly with or without stent.
