Hi sorry to hear Pete has pneumonia again. Hopefully it will clear up quickly. I had dark bile about 3 times when i was sick about 6weeks after surgery, then it settled down . The hospital cant be concerned. It must be very stressful for you. Glad he has feeding tube in.

Hope you get more positive news. Can you video call him via WhatsApp ?

Best wishes

Debbie

Hi Valerie. Poor Pete, I had a lot of bile come up when I had a second lot of chemo, I was taking 3 different anti sickness in an attempt to keep food down. I can remember being beside myself and not knowing what to do. It was horrid. I wonder if the pneumonia is being caused by acid or bile inhalation, it happens when you bring it up and as it burns, you gasp and accidentally breath it in

Anti sickness tabs might be a very good idea for a while.

Keeping my fingers crossed for him. God bless you both and huge hugs Valerie take care Lizzy

Today they say he has still got a hole and a leak that has caused fluid and food to go to the wrong place that caused infection and led to pneumonia he is again seriously ill they haven't moved him to icu yet but they say its a possibility it will happen he isn't breathing very well

I am so sorry to hear that. It must be very hard for you. Can you visit if you isolate totally at home. Our local hospital is allowing visits by appt only with PPE for an hour. I do hope you can. Take care xxxxx

Reading between the lines,

His anastomosis(suture of oesophagus and stomach inside chest cavity) isn't healed yet.

Its not unheard of as some patients take longer to heal the wound internally.

Sleeping resting posture at steep angle may be helpful till the healing is done, once he is back. In hospital offcourse fully adjustable bed.

If not to icu means he is stable, so good to know. Good luck
