Omeprazole not working

Hi all..I've been on omeprazole for 25 years most of the time Dr Reddys 20mg but recently Dr Reddys has changed its tablets and the new ones dont work for me my chemists said iam not the first to say it's not working now ..he changed my brand to Sandoz but they was not working for me either apparently the formulation is different from my original Dr Reddys a blue and grey capsule the new ones are white..my chemist then suggested for me to try Nexium 20mg =Esomeprazole 20mg with in 2 days I was back to normal..after a week I decided to try the Dr Reddys again but with in a few hours the acid/ stomach pain was back I persevered for 3 days and just got worse so straight back to the Nexium and sure enough I was feeling much better and the acid etc was gone...I hope this helps others....paul

I found the same when chemist gave me a different brand of Lansoprazole instead of my normal Teva. I have asked my GP to put Teva only on my prescription now. It shouldn't make a difference, after all I can take any brand of paracetamol, but it does!

Hiya the white ones don't work for me either. Have you tried the bright yellow ones?

Hi ..yes I think they are made by sandoz..same thing dont work for me

I actually phoned Dr Reddys side effects hot line but they could not tell me anything I did not already know

I changed from omprezole to Emoprezole 4 years ago after my GP told me omprezole stops working after a few years?

Been perfect since.

what type of nexium do you take? Mine is a purple carton box like the original and can f..heal me up in a jiffy!
