It’s back!!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. The cancer has returned to my husband, same place plus lymph nodes but not spread to organs as yet. To say we are shocked is a massive understatement! He was doing well, eating and putting on weight. In July started with slight pain in left side and back, thought it was a pulled muscle as he was back at the gym. It gradually got worse until early September when he was taking paracetamol several times a day. Saw GP who thought it might be diverticulitis, next day I called the hospital and asked for a CT scan, outcome was return of cancer and terminal diagnosis! Had 5 radiotherapy sessions which knocked him for 6 and now has to decide whether to have chemo or not...... Any advice/tips will be welcome. Thanks for reading this, it helps a bit to share it. We are lucky in that we have a wonderful, supportive family and fantastic friends.

Really sorry to hear that. It’s something we all fear I think and even hearing someone else’s bad news is a dagger to the heart. All I can do is pray that you have the strength to get through the very difficult period you are facing. Chin up and fight on. James.

Am so sorry to hear that!

I also got rediagnosed with another round of cancer in September. Started chemo again 2 weeks ago. I will be doing three rounds (3 weeks of chemo...1 week off and repeat).

I started out last year with esophageal cancer which we beat (successful surgery in Oct 2018). Now the cancer is in palups on the wall of my abdomen which is causing fluid build up in the abdomen and alot of pain...no good quality of life right now...they do a paracynthesis (drain the fluid) once a week now and we are back to doing chemo once a week with hopes the chemo with kill the pallups (spelling is bad...sorry) and dry up the fluid.

You, your husband and your family are all in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep me updated as how things are going.

In Love and Peace,

Jane
