Heart Attack?????????

I'm 51 years old, five years post Ivor Lewis and all clear. I am accustomed to the results of Bile Reflux/GERD, when the contents of your stomach end up in your mouth, throat and/or lungs during the night, either because you ate too much too late, you slipped off the pillows during the night or other. I know the resultant heaving and coughing up orange bile that lasts one or two hours, doubled up over the toilet and feeling like cxxp for the next two days.

However, something happened to me four days ago that I'm hoping someone can shed some light on. I had been training hard for three weeks and on a Sunday afternoon had a few drinks with friends. Monday morning I felt fine, but during the evening I felt a pressure building up in my chest and pain in my shoulders, which worsened every time I bent over. I ignore it and went to bed, only to wake up at 2am feeling like an elephant was sitting on my chest, my throat and shoulders were in agony and my breathing very laboured.

I was taken to hospital in an ambulance, convinced I was having a heart attack. They kept me in for 10 hours, gave me pain killers and Nitroglycerin, and did various tests inc. D-dimer, several ECGs, Ultrasound, blood tests and more. They told me they could find nothing wrong with my heart and no sign that I had,or was having, a heart attack. I have since seen a Cardiologist, who says I have evidence of some calcification in my coronary artery but cannot tell how bad it is without further tests.

Having since done various Google searches for my symptoms, I found some information that suggests some symptoms of GERD can emanate those of a heart attack almost identically. I have never experienced this before and, as the Docs could find no evidence of a heart attack, am wondering if anyone here has had a similar/same experience. Your thoughts are much appreciated.

Sounds like what I feel when I have eshopogeal spasms which feel exactly like a heart attack or maybe even gallbladder which feels the same way. I am in no means suggesting that these are problems for you just things I have experienced in my life. I have achalasia which contributes to the spasms and when they finally figured out my gallbladder needed removing and I had huge gallstones did I finally get relief the first time.

Could be consequences of working out hard for three weeks?

Perhaps herniated bowels or parts inside the chest putting pressure on the heart and lungs. With prejudice on heart at the time the lung function is totally overlooked. Try and see what's the spo2 reading like during those episodes.
