Hi team ,

I have heard from another post Iver Lewis patient here in New Zealand.

I thought it was just me..

Whenever I eat or drink my nose runs like a tap. An issue but a problem at home with a roll of paper towels , bit of a issue when eating out when you get one small napkin. Anyone else ??

Hi I'm 8 years on and only get a runny nose now with extreme changes of temperature, but for quite a while after the op it was pretty normal. It would drip like a tap for 10-15 mins and then calm down for a while. It seemed to be a normal side effect of the treatment and IL op as I knew a few fellow patients with the same problem. As you say loads of tissues or good kitchen towel stashed in various pockets is an essential. It did just slowly stop as the docs said it would.

Good luck

Cheers Lizzy

Hi - I have had a constant runny dripping nose since the operation two years ago. It never stops! Very difficult if I forget to carry tissues etc......i’d love to know the reason for this!

Alan had an appointment with his consultant 2 weeks ago (2.5 years Post IL). He was told that a runny nose if a side effect of the chemotherapy (chemo finished 2 years ago this month). He was also told that this should improve as time goes by.

Hi Alison, Thanks for your reply. Thinking about it you are very probably right.

I also have numb toes not all an d worse on my right side. The oncologist told me that its a chemo side effect also and not IL surgery related.
