Advice on blood clot in arm

Thanks for all the useful advice to my last post. My husband has had a rough time with his follow up chemo , especially his mouth & tongue . Last week he devoloped a blood clot in the arm which has his PICC LINE in place . This has put back the 2nd chemo session by a week ( a good thing as he needs to try & put back some weight). He`s been put on Rivaroxaban , has anyone had this problem & how long till his arm `deflates`? We had no warning that this was quite a common problem , could really do without it right now!

Thanks to you all

Hi

I developed a DVT in my upper arm 4weeks after starting my first round of ECX, luckily no swelling just aching, I was put on fragmin injections which I had to continue until my last chemo pill which was some 7 months later ( had 4 rounds of chemo plus op to remove part stomach / oesophagus then another 2 rounds)

At the start of chemo we were told that the risk of DVTs / clots increased was increased.

The aching stopped after a week or so, did get fed up with having to inject everyday, but had no reoccurance.

Good luck hope it all works out for him.
