Hi all has anybody had gastroparesis after having the Ivor Lewis operation ??

Yes I’ve had this unpleasant condition for the long years since surgery . Are you aware of the problems?

Hi, yes my husband developed this after his first dilation, from what I can gather it’s where the food doesnt move through the system quick enough so my husband suffered with awful acid reflux where he had to go into hospital for a week to get the meds’ right, he’s now on metoclopramide & erythromycin, the erythromycin the gp wasn’t keen on as its as antibiotic however the Upper GI nurses said its a low dose & it’s not used as an antibiotic there is something else in it that speeds up the passing of food, my husbands feels better, it 100% but better then he was
