Stage 4 ec spread to liver

Hi all,

I am 48 and after trying to get help with food and eventually liquid not being tolerated from August 2017 I was eventually diagnosed with ec at the lower junction. Kept on gastro ward and fed via ton using Kabi bags which caused liver damage rendering neoadjuvant chemo radiation impossible for 8 weeks and 7 mdts before transfer to aintree hospital for esophagectomy. Stage originally t2/3n1m1? After opening I became t3n3m0 then after planning pet ct I was called back to oncologist who dropped the bombshell I was now t4n3m1 as I had 3 spots on liver following an ultrasound scan to confirm cancer. Started EOX chemo today and hoping for a miracle.

Best wishes to anyone suffering or those affected by any form of these indiscriminate diseases.

Hi Zantri,

Early days on chemo as only started it Monday but will be scanned after two cycles and see how liver spots are, oncologist was open to other options if no improvement so we live in hope. Doc is the normal treatment for gullet cancer and am still waiting for results to see if perception is available.

Best Regards

I had EOX, not nice, sickness, upset stomach and hair fell out so i shaved it off, i could not be bothered with the cold cap. Feeling of cold and tingling in the feet is weird. even in warm weather, any slight drop in temperature will be felt so i carried with me scarf, gloves and hat, even in May, and a blanket. I remember coming back from hospital after one treatment and making a really bad smell in the car, sadly they could not open the window as it was very cold so they had to suffer. I am evil so i did laugh!

Stick with it, hopefully it will shrink it and they can do more. not sure if you ever watched the Big C and me. some people have been living with cancer for 20 years and still going strong. it was a very emotional programme as it was on whilst i was going through treatment. it gave me a lot of hope and help guide me to ask questions i would never have thought of.

I have had to bite my tongue with all the helpful guidance on alternative treatments etc i recommend trying them with conventional treatment but never instead of. one was to eat peach stones! the fact that the cyanide contained would eventually kill the person along with the cancer was too ridiculous to smile about but you will start seeing lts of that.

Try and eat healthy if you can and exercise. it will be difficult but your body and mind needs that to help fight it.

Thanks Zantri,

Am doing just that, stay positive and keep fighting all the way. New treatments are becoming available all the time.

Thanks for the encouragement and advice.

Colin Jones here in Mudgee Australia, I agree with Zantri on recommendation to eat healthily and combine some natural treatments. I am four months out from full Ivor .Lewis surgery and doing well. I had a year of keto no sugar diet and various vitamin an herbal therapies that kept the stage one cancer at bay but did not stop it. I then had a month of radiation every day and chemo once a week . This was supported by fasting and introvenous vit C. I had no side effects and worked the whole time. This treatment reduced the cancer to a stage where it was not visable but still in the walls of the oesophagus so I had the knife as well. I am sure the diet and the natural support has helped me have a better time than if I depended on mainstream medicine alone. A major issue is finding a doctor to do the alternative stuff. I wish you well and hope you find some extra help.

Thanks Colin,

I am trying to eat healthily and weight staying constant but as the cancer has now spread to liver my treatment options are limited to palliative as they tell me there now is no cure. I wish you and everyone affected by this disease the very best as you recover. I am in Merseyside UK.

Best Wishes

Sorry to hear of the spreading to your liver but there are plenty of anti cancer supplements that can lower toxicity and prolong life. I have two naturopathic doctors as well as my hospital based oncologists and they have been helpful. One particular substance worth looking at is the dreaded green weed, it has just been legalised with restrictions in Australia and results are mixed as far as a cite is concerned but at least it can make you feel better and ease pain. I had some as a concentrated oil extract and took it at night before bed and slept well and woke up better generally. The Australian doctor I was under is Andrew Katalaris and he works through an org called the Church of Umbutu, sounds a bit mumbo jumbo but they great people and have helped many. Hope this helps .
