Nortriptyline to desentisise the esophagus?

Hi, I was wondering is anyone had been put on 10mg of nortriptyline to "desentisise" the esophagus? I'm only 21 and have had chronic esophagus and duedenistus for almost half my life. I take Ranitidine and this helps most with the symptoms, recently they have given me the nortriptyline to try, And since I've started taken it I've rarely slept more than 3 hours a night, I have severe reflux, nausea, stomach pain and my heart is racing along with having stabbing chest pain that is worse when I lie down. I know 10mg is a small dose, does anyone know the withdrawal symptoms? I assume they can't be worse that how it's making me feel now. Also, I've only been taking them a month, do I need longer to see an improvement in what it's suppose to be doing? Thanks!

Lucy, Sorry to know your hardship with your illness. Sympathies your way.

From my personal experience what I see here is a trend in your case.

You have a chronic disease, and still after 10 years being treated for symptoms and not for the root cause problem. Unless the chronic root cause issue is not treated e.g. curatively how much more tissue abuse can tolerate before it succumbs to duodenal cancer?

Please talk to your Hospital specialists (assert GP's for referral) for root cause problem resolution if not curative treatment.

Good luck and please note that I am not Dr, so take the suggestion with a (Hulk size) pinch of salt.
