Hi, yes I get that, it comes and goes" and sometimes it feels like something stuck in the throat " I did quite bit of research, it appears that this is quite strong symptoms of GORD (Gastro oesophagus reflux disease)! But you should certainly see your doctor about it! Maybe referral to the ENT specialist would be good option

Yes, I had it and sharp pain when singing. Refered to ENT, had nasendoscope. ENT said '"I think you have a small hernia" !

I have Laryngopharyngeal Reflux. This is when acid (& pepsin vapour??) rise up above the oesophagus into the throat and pool in the throat at night. Known as 'silent' reflux because people don't have frequent symtoms such as heartburn or acid taste.

Acid from stomach had damaged the Arytenoids. These hold down the Larynx, however Larynx was OK. It was treated with 60mg Zoton Fastab orodispersible lansoprazole for 8 weeks. This was 7 years ago. I now take one x 30mg daily.

ENT later presribed Gaviscon Advance also, however was unpleasant for me to take, so stopped.

Recent referal to ENT new Consultant. He has prescribed Gaviscon Advance. He explained about it's not just acid rising that causes damage but also pepsin & vapour from pepsin in stomach rising up and affecting throat and top of oesophagus.

First Barium Swallow years ago showed posterior prominence on Cricopharyngeus as well as confirm small sliding hiatus hernia.

Recent Barium Swallow in August showed damage at top of Oesophagus causing more narrowing. ENT Consultant says Gaviscon Advance will help by stopping pepsin vapour and acid rising up and causing more damage.
