Hi everyone, first time on any forum for me.
Had gastroscopy yesterday and diagnosed with hiatus hernia , Barrett's oesophagus. Years of anti acids and now I know why! Waiting for biopsy results . Just wanted to ask if anyone else relates to having stomach ache, nausea etc 24 hours after procedure ? Now waiting for colonoscopy , can't wait ! Appreciate any input please...
Hi For me this was the norm - I had endoscopies every 3-6 months for almost 20 years after being diagnosed with Barretts when I was about 25 after each one i felt as you do but within a day or so i was back to being me - make sure you get regular endoscopies- although I was in the military and think every 3-6 months was a bit of 'overkill' 
Many thanks for your reassurance , feeling slightly better today so I'm probably over- reacting. Also, great to hear you are 20+ years post diagnosis as at the moment I'm scaring myself with Dr Google reading !! Think I'll feel better once results are back and hopefully ok, same with colonoscopy . Again, thanks for your time/ advice , really appreciated

Gary, what is the plan moving forward since your diagnosis. I am a pancreatic cancer survivor 10 years post Whipple procedure ( an extremely complex surgery) I was 16 weeks intensive care. 2 weeks step down then home to complete my recuperation. Since 2015 I've not been feeling well and seeing my gastrointestinal dr. Regularly . I have gastroparesis ( slow digestion) hiatal hernia , a .2 cm ulcer on esophagus severe sore throats 24 hr a day nausea and I'm no longer able to take nausea meds any longer due to how much it Burns's my esophagus and stomach. Do any of these symptoms sound familiar? I'm set to have another EDG October 2, where my dr will insert a chip to see exactly how much acid is coming up from my stomach. Thank you and please post how you are doing today and your results from your colonoscopy
