Nausea & acid reflux?

Hi, does anyone know if acid reflux causes nausea? I have been nauseous for the past few days not sure if it is that, omeprazole, or migraines that have started again? Kimda worried. Just for off omperazole ams switching to prevacid to see if symptoms will help. I have been feeling so out of it for the past few days not sure if it is omeprazole side effects or just post migraine feeling :/

Check to see if you have acid reflux or bile reflux. PPI drugs suppress acid production. Bile is alkaline in nature, so logically acid would neutralise the bile. The stomach is designed to contain acid not bile. Even as little as 10 ml of bile in the stomach will make you feel dreadful and cause vomiting. I think Drs are too quick to assume that a patient reporting heartburn are suffering from acid.

Omeparazole gave me bad nausea. I stopped it and my nausea stopped. I stopped the acid by changing my diet and not eating at all after 19:00 at night.

Hi All. Orig using 20mm of omprez by astra zenica and was fine. Changed to Sandoz brand .. felt heartburn and sicky. Now back on astra zenica .. feel better. Thats weird

I am on Lanzaprazole and sometimes I have to increase it because of the nausea. My doctor prescribed me anti sickness tablets but most of the time they do not work. Nausea is absolutely awful to live with xx

The change of medication might be part of the problem. It might take a couple of weeks to settle down. Meanwhile you could try Gaviscon, which works differently.

Hi

I have burning sensation in my lower and upper abdomen. If I have sugary foods , some fruit , bread starchy food, it irritates It.It really started when I was pregnant. but now it seems to be worse,I I have had zantac, omeprazole 40mg and it doesn't seem to go. I am going to a gastro and Ent as I have had problem feelilng as if food has not gone down properly and straining of the vocals.
