Hi all

I have been receiving treatment for Achalasia for quite a while having tried various pills and potions too no avail.My doctor has now suggested daily injections of hormones which is experimental, only 12 people are currently on this programme,has anyone heard of this?

I have not heard of this personally. Is the purpose of it to address the painful spasms - or the swallowing process?

Do you know what the hormone treatment is called?

There is a booklet 'A Patient's Guide to Achalasia' that you can download from the OPA website opa.org.uk/pages/achalasia.... that describes conventional treatments but we do not mention this, so further information would indeed be of interest.
