My lovely hubby

This is one post I hoped never to have to write. After learning my hubby's cancer had spread on 17th December 2014 he ended up in hospital on 27th December and after a battle I got him to another hospital 50 miles away from home to get some radiotherapy for pain. Unfortunately he never came home and ended up passing away in my arms on 23rd January 2015, just over a month from hearing the cancer was back. We are heartbroken as he was only 48 and we had so much more to do.

I will be thinking of all of you in this tough journey x

Hi Janex, I am so sorry for your loss! I am 50 and had surgery in March 2014. So far so good but one never knows! I wish you and your family the best! Having experienced this myself makes me appreciate my husband more and more because he has been so incredibly caring. I am quite certain your husband felt the same about you. There is no greater difficulty in life than health! Without Health you have nothing without nurturing family and friends it would even be worse. Your husband had a wonderful loving wife as I have with mine. You are incredible woman and I am so grateful your husband had you throughout his medical journey! Again, words cannot express my sympathy for your loss.

I'm so sad to hear that your husband passed away at such a young age. I am on the same journey as you Janex as my husband's cancer returned and despite radiotherapy, he too passed away last September. It's the saddest thing with no words to explain the grief and loneliness especially after such a long journey with the illness. I wish you well as you start along this pathway. No one can ever take the loving memories from your heart, be patient and be kind to yourself. I'll be thinking of you, your family and friends at this very sad and difficult time. xxxx Val

Hi Jane,

I know words are not enough to take the pain and sadness away. My young husband last his fight last October aged 47 yrs, it is truly a horrible disease. In all the sadness I did join the WAY forum which s for those of us widowed under 50 . It does provide lots of support and meet ups when you are ready.
