Thank you
It's great that you've recovered! But most of us, even when we're doing well, will have a few off days. As for the sertraline, are you still on it? I am on 300 mg a day, which is a high dose occasionally prescribed, and it helps greatly. Don't feel that you have to come off the medication just because you are better. It can stop the OCD from coming back.
It can help to refresh your CBT exercises if you're having an off day. Or just take it easy for a bit and give yourself a bit of a break if you can.
Thank you sallyskins...I am on 200mg a day...it saved my life
but every three months or so...I always have a bad two weeks...but getting less severe the longer I take them...
I've heard you can take a low dose of another anti anxiety med along with the sertraline...what do you think?
I do take another low dose of something. It's an anti-psychotic, though I am not psychotic, but it is occasionally prescribed alongside sertraline. It's called aripiprazole, and I take 5 mg a day, and it boosts the effects of the sertraline. I've found it helpful.
Making a good recovery from OCD is a great achievement. But it does raise its ugly head now and then. It's necessary to learn to take it easy then, and don't be too hard on yourself.
Make sure that it is aripiprazole that you ask for and if prescribed, take. Don't have anything to do with sulpiride, which make you put on weight!
thanks for getting bck to me sallyskins
I can feel this latest blip lifting today
omg the past two years were complete hell
my ocd became very bad in my teens because
i couldnt come to terms with my sexuality
but i am more comfortable in myself lately
i found that accepting you have ocd is the moment you start to recover
never treat ocd as your enemy think of it as that relation you dont like who comes to visit now and again...if you know what i mean😂😂😂
just tolerate it and it will go away on its own
i live in manchester uk....talk soon
