I am at my wits end, I have been on clomipramine on and off for 30 years for ocd/anxiety and now it's been discontinued. Have been put on sertraline.,and only 1and half weeks in to be fair.Keep thinking over and over that I'm going to die (healthy at moment ).Because I'm healthy worry I might harm myself. Driving me mad and so worrying. Anyone else experience similar or had luck with sertraline please?

I'm on sertraline and have been for quite a few years. Before that I was on clomipramine, which suited me well except that it made me feel rather dopey, to the extent that I occasionally went to sleep on my desk at work!
On the whole, sertraline is a good medication for OCD. But it does take several weeks to work. It should kick in after about four weeks, and then you should start to feel better.
I've found sertraline a good medication and haven't had much in the way of side effects. And it doesn't make me go to sleep on my desk!
Health OCD is relatively common, and the more you worry about your health the more you think you have found something wrong. There is a book called 'Three Men in a Boat' which starts with the author reading a medical encyclopaedia and discovering that he had every illness and disease in it except for Housemaid's Knee! He goes to his doctor in a panic. His doctor tells him he just needs a holiday.
Give the sertraline a chance. It should make you feel much better in a few weeks.

Thank you, reassuring. I took 50mg yesterday up from 25. Had a horrendous afternoon.know you should take once a day but going to try it. Can’t tolerate Largs doses. Was only on 40mg clomipramine which worked great. Thanks again.x

ragged,ive been on sertraline for 3 years now I had a torred time on 50mg,the side affects were orthull.a doctor used to come to moniter me ouce a week.he really
new about sertraline,he came one day and put me on 100 mg ,with in one week
the difference was amazing,felt fine the only,side affect that stayed was every so often
cold swets at night,believe me the good thing outwayed side affects ,o I sleep alott
wich isent bad is it.so ragged sit it out and get the rewards.by

That's a really low dose, but if it works for you. then great! I didn't know that clomipramine was being discontinued. A pity as although not used so much now, it helps people who don't suit other medications.
