How Do People Perceive Objects?
Our study looks at how people see value in objects, in particular we want to see if there are any differences between how people with hoarding difficulties, OCD and those with no mental health issues perceive objects in relation to their instrumental, sentimental, monetary and aesthetic values.
There is currently little research into what might be behind the unique attachment to objects that people with hoarding difficulties have. We want to investigate this by assessing whether this special connection could be related to how people with hoarding difficulties perceive objects. We hope that the findings from this study can be used to help with early diagnosis and treatment interventions for both people with hoarding difficulties and OCD by highlighting a potentially unique aspect of Hoarding Disorder.
We feel this is an important and interesting study and we would really appreciate if you could take part.
