I do have a problem with wanting to wash my hands a lot, but with me it is thought contamination rather germs contamination, almost as if I am washing off the thought. It's a difficult one to deal with as it makes you afraid to touch things until you have decontaminated yourself. Try not to wash using disinfectants more than you can help, as they are really not necessary for most things. On the whole soap and water is enough for cleanliness. Take care of your skin as well, as too much washing can make it sore.
Does it have a simmilar effect, I guess my feelings with contamination are also emotional too, it is very hard to explain to others and they generally do not understand 
Of course it is hard to explain, as people often think it is just about being excessively clean, and don't understand the emotional stress behind it!
