Can I read books...?

I know that I am probably sounding ridiculous but whenever I read a book I get really emotional. Like really really emotional. If it has a sad plot to it, just like a book I have read called Broken Heart Club, then I get a tight knot in my chest and I start to cry.

I know that I should stop, but once I start a book, I can't stop.

I have also decided to see my school counselor after the holidays are over and try to open up :)

Hi zairella..I am glad to hear you're going to the counsellor, you will soon start to feel a lot better once you have talked to someone who will then be able to support and help you.

It is quite natural to be moved by an emotional story,I wouldn't worry too much about that. At certain stages in life we can be more emotional than at other times and easily affected by sad or happy books, films or events.

You have other feelings at the moment that you are dealing with and this could also be why you feel very emotional, but once you take that step to talk about everything, you will be much more in control of how you feel and less worried or anxious.x

Thank you Soooo much Tillyray, I told my best friend today at school and she said that for a while, when she just started secondary, she felt the same but now she knows to tell herself that it is just in the book. I feel like I should I should be more with her especially when choosing books! :)

you will discover that lots of people are going through exactly the same, and it is reassuring to know that you are not the only one..

when we share our similar stories and worries with friends and people we trust, we often get good ideas from them that help us to view things in another way that we might not otherwise have thought of..just like you found when you talked with your best friend.😊 x

Some books I don't start, because when I do, I feel like I get demons attacking Me, and Other Books, I Pray Before I Read And I'm Fine. I kind Of Can Feel which type of book I might Have To Pray, Or Read The Bible Before Reading, And Which Books, For Me, Are Safe. I Get A Kind Of Feeling About Them, And What Kind Of Day It's Been, Spirotually (Do I Need Extra Covering, Protection) And Where I'm At Mentally (Is Reading This Going To over-stress Me, or Load Me Up with Information, too much, so I'm not Able to proccess What I'm Reading?)

But That's Just Me. I don't Know Your Story...

I Hope This Helps You, My Advice Is To Pay Attention To How You Feel Before You Pick Up A Book, And Get Some Rest Before You Pick Up A Sad Story, And Some Rest After, If You Can, Maybe Even Set A Day Aside, To Read A Book, Book Time. That Way, If You Read Quick, You Have Time To Get Through The Whole Book. Maybe, If It Helps, Set An Alarm, So You Can Stop.

I used To Obsess Over Jigsaw Puzzles, Until I Got fussy about Which Ones I Bought. Now I'm Learning At Least Four Different Languages, All With Different Apps On My Phone, And I Go For Walks, Up To Twice A Week, And Then I Usually Draw Or Write Or Study, Then I Go Shopping. ... I've Also Tried Gardening, but That Takes Daily Comittment, Which Some Days I don't make Time For It, I Kind Of Have To Think On My Feet On medication And Holiday Season And Friends Who need Me, Plus Trying To Start A Business, sleepy often. Ya know, Sometimes I Just Ask God For Another 6 Hours In My Day (30 hr Day). I was diagnosed With tendancies Toward OCD And Also With Tendancies Of ADD. So, Sorry If I'm A little All Over The Place. :)

Hello JDJ23To28AND1-2

I just wanted to say, with regards to the document being posted and originally removed; one has to be very aware of how others (especially those with conditions that make them feel vulnerable, emotional and impressionable etc) may feel about information given to them..I think it perhaps may have originally been removed because of it's religious connotation, as not everyone subscribes to that view, and also as it can be a trigger for those with mental health issues, eg the person with PTSD..

I believe having a faith is valuable to those that have it (as you find) and that it can mean different things to different people. But it can be considered that advice is best kept 'neutral' in that way, so not to have a negative impact on a vulnerable persons mental health condition, and not to guide anyone onto a path they might not normally take if they were not dealing with the issues that make them feel vulnerable with their mental health.

I know your intentions are good and you are offering help with what you know, which is what we do..But I just wanted to let you know why it may have first been removed.

I wish you all the best.x
