Obessive compulsive elements?

I have been given a working diagnosis of Schizophrenia but also the Doctor sees some obessive complusive elements in my condition. I am constantly thinking - If nothing is happening my mind searches for something to think about - sometimes past events or things I have already thought about that are happening in the future. Sometimes i can get thoughts seemingly out of nowhere (obviously my brain though is producing them) sometimes really terrible thoughts. Do these seem like they could fit into a Obessive Compulive diagnosis or at least be recognisable aspects of OCD?

NB Being around people can help and sometimes wathcing TV or playing computer games can help a little although I have a poor attention span. I dont have any symptoms such as having to do things a certain number of times though.

When I say 'I am constantly thinking - If nothing is happening my mind searches for something to think about - sometimes past events or things I have already thought about that are happening in the future' By 'future events' I mean actual things that are happening - such as meetings with the doctor.

Dear Adam

Maybe you will find this reply

OCD is an all consuming compulsion to do something irrespective of anything else

It is a reaction to constant stimulus by the adrenalin which the brain computes as a danger signal

However if there is no apparent danger the person with OCD will invent a compulsion to solve the build up of stress

The stress cannot be dealt with this way and so instead of dealing with the stress the compulsion causes more stress

Somewhat like an alcoholic drinking to appease the negative effects of drinking

It is possible your thoughts are a sign of intelligence your brain needs to be occupied

It may be a symptom of your illness or a side effect of medicine

If you feel you have OCD you should speak to a professional

Hope his helps

K
