Gail's Blog - Barcelona!

It’s back to work for me after a lovely long weekend away in Barcelona. It was part of my birthday present from my lovely husband Andy. We arrived at 10.30 on Friday morning and headed straight to our hotel to drop off our bags. We had a lovely room on the 16th floor overlooking the harbour. What a wonderful view!

It was lovely wandering up Las Ramblas and sitting outside a coffee shop watching the world go by.The evening was nice and warm and we ate our evening meal outside.

The next day was sunny and warm. We decided to take the tour bus. A great way to discover the city. Andy was particularly pleased to see the Camp Nou stadium where he watched his beloved Manchester United beat Bayern Munich in the 1999 UEFA final. One of his favourite memories, he was there with our 15 year old son Adam – They still talk about it all these years later. They were especially happy when, after the match they went to their hotel to find the Manchester United team were staying there too. They took many photos which have been treasured ever since.

Sunday was another warm day and we took a boat trip and had lovely views of the Barcelona beaches. After lunch a wander around the aquarium was very relaxing.

There were other things on our agenda which we just didn’t have time for. We have decided that we need to return to continue our discovery of Barcelona. There is so much to see and do.

I returned to work to fine a nice big pile of Membership forms to process, now we have reached our 4000th member we look forward to building our membership even further. If you would like information about becoming a member please go to nras.org.uk

Now the sun, sand and sea is behind me I will start to think about Christmas. I have already bought my NRAS Christmas cards which you can also find on the NRAS website at nras.org.uk/support_us/nras...

You mean you didn't do any Gaudi??? That's why most people go to Barca. We've been there several times. The festival in september is fantastic, as long as you don't mind lots of loud music, drink and being set on fire by errant fireworks! H&S. No such words in Spanish.lol
