Well everybody first off we had a lovely day. We got to the station and we weren't going to get the train until just after 12o'clock,so went into the butterfly farm and then we went and saw the otters. I have to say i enjoyed this very much and we saw them being fed. Will post pictures over the weekend. Then we got on the train and had a laugh with one of the station staff before he put the ramp up for us to get on. We got off at Totnes and went and had a bit of lunch and a chat with a lady who was on the train with us. Then we went into the rare breeds farm and petting the animals. We had food that we could feed the animals with and we got lots of photos. There was a lovely owl and i have photos of me stroking him.
We have got home and i have told my two that whatever happens i won't be going out tonight. My knee and ankle are swollen and sore and so are my hands as well. I am very tired,but i have had a lovely day so if thats the price i have to pay so be it. Will be going home in the morning and i will be pleased to see my bed.

Oh sylvi so unfair you have to suffer like this when you should be enjoying yourself,I am dreading going away for that reason only,I.hope I can have a hip and knee injection before I go my dr has already said don't,then drink because of Meds (like I gonna do that on holiday) I hope you get some rest before your journey home gentle hugs hun xxx
I don't mind suffering a bit after such a good day. I had to priortise and staying in tonight was worth it for such a good day. You must decide what you need to most and decide if or when you suffer. If it means not going out at night then so be it. If you want to have a big night out while your away try staying close to where your staying and rest ready for the night. I was out all day and then went out for a meal and i didn't sleep very well. I don't miss the drink at all so that wouldn't worry me. You have a lovely time away and i look forward to hearing about it when you get back.xxx
Hi Sylvi, hope you managed some good sleep last night (when I woke and heard the wind I thought of you all being in a caravan, we've stayed in a caravan when the wind was blowing a gale so know what it must have been like).
Your blog reminded me when I went with my youngest daughter's class as a helper to a butterfly farm. The children were only about 6. I was wearing a beige blouse which attracted the butterflies so I ended up sitting on the floor so that the little ones got a better look at the butterflies. The children loved it. My daughter was so impressed 'cause it was her Mum that the butterflies were attracted to - once she was older she realised that it wasn't me that the butterflies liked, it was my blouse! They reckon we each have '15 minutes of fame' - guess that was mine.
Thank you Judi. My dad went to a butterfly farm once and we have a photo of him with one on his face. It was horrendous during the night if it wasn't the rain it was the wind keeping me awake. Now the ruddy seagulls are awake now and makng a racket.
I laughed about 'the ruddy seagulls' - my girls used to throw bread on the roof of the caravan before we went to bed so that 'the ruddy seagulls' got breakfast early!.
When we took the girls on holiday on the Norfolk Broads, when we were moored up and were having breakfast the ducks (and etc.) used to join us - the girls put out a trail of bread from the river bank onto and into the boat !

When we're at the caravan and the seagulls decide a visit I try to guess what they are having for lunch! Invariably you can tell when they have a bone it makes too much of a racket. I do like them first thing in the morning it's better than an alarm clock, more gentle and you cannot switch it off. The worse bit it trying to get all the mess off the caravan, and that's one of the 'payments' we have to do for borrowing my parents caravan!

I wish we had known earlier where you were,because we would have come to see you. We only got as far as the rare breeds farm. Judy it was a really lovely day and i enjoyed it very much. WE enjoyed these four days more than the fortnight we had in cornwall as the weather was better. We did speak about you when we were at totnes. love sylvi.xxx
