I had 2 in my right knee, the consultant injected them with steroids rather than draining them and they were much better within about a week.

I would say that it is uncomfortable but not as bad as the pain and swelling in my knees caused by the cyst. Draining it worked and touch wood......three years down the line and I haven't had any problems since.

I am a big believer in no pain, no gain............ even though I would prefer no pain! Good luck
